What to expect
Free initial consultation
I know from the many clients I work with, that entering counselling can be a daunting prospect. The first step can often be the hardest and I respect that. You may want to meet with me first to see if you feel I am someone you can work with. I offer a free, no-pressure, half hour informal meeting where we can discuss any questions you may have, free from any commitments.
First session / assessment
Our first session will be to identify your wants, needs and goals from the process, and for me to assess if counselling will be safe and beneficial for you. It is an opportunity for me to get to know you and decide how best to tailor my approach to meet your needs.
Counselling Sessions
Each client and situation is unique. It is difficult to place an exact amount of the sessions we will need to complete the work. I like to agree an initial block of sessions with you (usually 6), we will then review our progress and if we feel there is more work to be done then we will agree another block of sessions (e.g. another 6) and review again. This method helps maintain focus on your goals for counselling and put you in control of the amount of sessions you need.
What is counselling?
Counselling is a process of self-discovery. It provides a safe and confidential space for you to speak freely and the opportunity to show your intimate and vulnerable sides. Counselling provides the perfect space to release and be free from long held emotions, to gain different perspectives and reconnect with your true self. It finds solutions to personal issues, freedom from mental health problems and a greater sense of wellbeing.
